The box has to come out regardless, and so I'd expect you will get charged the 1.4 hour book time anyway, with perhaps up to 1 hour added to replace the seal (depending on how frustrated the tech is with the job).

Personally, I'd sleep better at night knowing I sold someone a Defender with a new steering box rather than one which the seal could pop out at any moment.

Wslr, normally I would totally agree with you If I were selling the car privately, however it's going to a main LR dealer in PX and they are aware of the problem. My reason for wanting it done now is only because my wife still has to drive this car until the new one arrives

All done. New/exchange box fitted yesterday
