According to my fuse diagram 3 and 4 should power with wipers. Ive checked both and still wipers not working. What should be next step to check before buying another motor? thanks

unplug the loom from the motor and see if you have +ve and -ve power to the plug, if you do then its the motor or wiper system that needs attention.

dont rush to buy a new motor until you have taken the plug off and checked , also as others have said it may have just stalled due to friction somewhere in the system, and new motor brushs are also available parts are generally interchangeable across the British Leyland range so parts are not a problem DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

The wiper stalk can also be finished, they wear out frequently, if its not any of the other issues. Cheap enough to replace Jeff

or the wiper switch itself on the motor. Thumbs Up
Some times a gentle tug on the wiper arm itself, after you switch the stalk down, may get them going again. Just case the switch itself is stuck Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
