or it could be 37" mud tyres vs 31" road biased tyres lol. im not sure EV made much difference to the outcome, although the grunt was impressive (no doubt helped by the ashcroft kit it was wearing too!)

I've never seen the point of these stupid tug of wars, most often they are more influenced by the reaction time(s) of the drivers than the car.

Yes, usually, I suppose. But I think this was down to weight. The first 'lightweight'(!) no-roof Defender was always going to get pulled. Now left.

It's very simple physics, F=uR or Tractive Force = coefficient of friction between tyres and the ground x vehicle mass
Of course it's a bit more complex than that, with traction or slip control and so on, but basically tyres. Which is why any fwd hatchback on winter tyres will run rings round a RRS SVR on summer tyres, on snow/ice! 2015 90 XS SW Bowler
