I've never seen the point of these stupid tug of wars, most often they are more influenced by the reaction time(s) of the drivers than the car.

Yes, usually, I suppose. But I think this was down to weight. The first 'lightweight'(!) no-roof Defender was always going to get pulled. Now left.

It's very simple physics, F=uR or Tractive Force = coefficient of friction between tyres and the ground x vehicle mass
Of course it's a bit more complex than that, with traction or slip control and so on, but basically tyres. Which is why any fwd hatchback on winter tyres will run rings round a RRS SVR on summer tyres, on snow/ice! 2015 90 XS SW Bowler 1998 TD5 CSW |
