Loss of power (throttle non responsive) when going up gears
I know this a frequent question....

Done a lot of reading on this and wanted to start with easy stuff to fault find.....so

I've just disconnect the clutch switch and shorted out the loom plug as a bypass (I have 2007 2.4 tdci puma).

The effect it had was to limit the top rev to 3000 rpm when pressing the throttle out out of gear, is this excepted?

If I reconnect it again the result is a lumpy throttle response, sometimes pumping the clutch a few times alters this (inconsistent results though).

Leaving the plug off altogether "without shorting it" on the loom side takes the 3000 rpm limit off and seems less lumpy.

Thoughts on this would be appreciated greatly.

I haven't test driven it with the clutch switch disconnected and un-bridged.

Is it safe to do so?
