Started smoking?
My Td5, has an IRB 190bhp tune on it, goes well, a bit of smoke when I guive it the beans, but noithing too bad. I've had the tune on it for nigh on 10 years now along with a VGT turbo and allisport big intercooler.

Recently it's started smoking quite a lot. Black smoke so I'm guessing fuelling or air problems? Air filter is good (has a snorkel, 3" pipe on it, but always has had one so that's not changed)

Still pulls well, just seems to smoke everytime I put my foot down. almost to the extent of an over-screwed Tdi if you know what I mean.

MAF sensor is giving the correct readings. Would MAP sensor cause this maybe?

Ideas on a postcard please Thumbs Up Cool

Mine has the same problem. Smoked when I accelerated hard.
When it went in for a service, they could find nothing wrong.
So I did 3 things. Firstly I put expensive non supermarket diesel in it , then I put some Wynns injector cleaner in it , and also thrashed it ( for a Defender) down the A12 for about 5 miles.
This cured it.
Sadly I did all three at the same time, so I don’t know which one cured it.
I will say it’s now running beautifully as well👍🏻 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

Yes, mine smokes when it boosts. I usually drive it like i've stolen it so getting a good thrash isn't a problem.

I usually use shell or esso fuel in it, will try the injector cleaner.

thanks.
