I cannot help you with the cost of replacement other than the cost to purchase.
I did one for a friend, and went for a galvanized cross member. We got the basic cross member, without any extensions and had to fabricate some brackets. In the end, you cannot tell that the cross member was replaced, with exact copy of the original welds. But this was a case where the chassis legs were rust free up to the crossmember. Going this way also meant that the tub had to come off. Need to clean off the galvanizing around the weld areas first. But the rest is protected for a very long time. This is what we got: https://www.paddockspares.com/kvb000290-td...nised.html 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Mine cost me £600 all in at the local indie last year on the 130.
A lot of places didn't want to do it and were quoting £1000 upwards. |
