I tried to suck out some oil using a pump such as the Pela.
I fitted a thinner hose to fit in the 2.2's tube. But it only sucked a little oil and mostly air. I realised the hose wasn't in deep enough. There is a resistance (which you can also feel with the dipstick) and I didn't dare to force it down the last 10cm, fearing it may tear apart Did you just push it in with force? |

Sorry if this point has been made before but the Pela draws the oil up much better if the engine oil is hot. Not quite such an issue in the summer but certainly for the other 11 months of the year.

Ref filter making a mess, try using hand around a plastic bag that's up around the filter. Catch oil and filter in the bag. Mind oil temp! Cheers
