Mine ran ok right from the first start, but it should learn itself over period of time. I’d take it out for a reasonable length drive, see if it improves. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Thanks Bluest, I did try this but it was dropping revs and cutting out so wasn’t confident of driving it down the road.

There must be someone on the forum with Nanocom or similar nearby that could plug in and force the learn for you. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Problem solved!! The new bolts that come with the VCV (Brit part) were too long. Put the old ones back in tightened up correctly and bingo all working fine.

What is it with those bolts, mine were too long too. Glad it's sorted. The first time I fitted mine it took a couple of hours but I fitted it upside down. Second time it took about half an hour but the bolts were too long. Third time it took about 10 minutes. 😀

Mine on my Denso genuine part were also longer, fortunately (because I dropped one) I found out before fitting.
I tried mine before and after the re-learn and did not detect a difference. The new VCV however made a massive improvement to throttle hesitation Mine was on 51k miles (2.4 from 2011) Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
