Oil leak Puma D90 2009 in the muffler pipe, Is this normal?
Hi
I bought a 6400 km 2009 puma D90.
My first one. I just enjoy it for 2000 km
I have notice oil in the muffler pipe.
The oil is there just after I start the D90 in the morning.
I review a lot of topics and posts in defender2.net to understand this leak and can`t find anything.
I`m new in Puma and Defender.
Is this normal?
Help please!!!
Thanks!!!

I presume by muffler pipe you mean exhaust. If that is the case are you sure it is oil and not condensed water mixed with exhaust soot/carbon caused by the initial cold exhaust condensing out some water on start-up? If that is the case then I would say that was normal. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

You are right: Exhaust.
I`m not sure if it its water mixed or oil.
Here is a pic.
What do you think?
Thanks!!!

Hi MaxD90,
That looks like water and soot condensate. Nothing to worry about. If you get LOTS of steam or dirty water coming out of the exhaust WHENEVER the engine is running then ? head gasket - but I would suggest what you see in that picture is Normal, especially if you don't get it after the engine and exhaust are warmed up. Catch some in a glass jar and put it in your garage. After a day or two it'll seperate if it's water / soot to clear water on the top.
