Cybrand now offering 2.2 puma tdci Euro 6 retrofit upgrade to exhaust and emissions system including Ad Blue. Plans to offer same for 2.4 in the future. Fully ULEZ approved. There is also a link on the Cybrand website page to a pdf download of a Land Rover Monthly article on this upgrade/ conversion. Cost circa £5500 + VAT Not for me (for now!) as I live in the North East of Scotland but thought it may be of interest to some. An alternative to engine swap if ULEZ compliance is an issue. |

In Spain I doubt they would class this as euro 6 without thousands spent getting paperwork in order, in triplicate Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

As the system works on number plate recognition, how would it work? I understand that the conversion will make it compliant, but how would you register it so the cameras and the database won't just keep charging you?
Maybe I should have read this month (or last, can't remember) copy of Land Rover Owner. I'm sure they have had theirs converted. Maybe that explains? I know there have been issues with the cameras on the QE2 bridge over-charging people, just wondered if there is a system? It is only a matter of time before London and other cities ban ICE vehicles from their streets. It may not be tomorrow, but it will happen and probably sooner rather than latter. |

I know of various Motorcycles that have been put through a single approval for this so presume there is a means of adding that particular plate to their system??

This is a really interesting development, and the first option that’s financially comparable with having to buy an additional car for commuting. Will be watching this with interest when the low emission zones kick in for other cities outside London soon.

Bath and Birmingham already have LEZ.
Doesn't Glasgow, too? Edit, Yes Glasgow's LEZ currently only applies to buses. Extends to all vehicles from Feb/May 2022. A useful resource for journey planning, https://urbanaccessregulations.eu/countrie...inmenu-205 |

Yep, comes in for Glasgow and Edinburgh next year. It’s going to cause real issues for many.

Has anyone had this retrofit done and if so do Cybrand get all the records altered so that the upgrade is recognised or is that up to the owner?
I am wondering if this would be worthwhile as it could possibly add more to the resale value than the cost of having it fitted. |

Land Rover monthly article provides details https://www.cybrand.co.uk/_files/ugd/ee575...134a10.pdf On how new euro6 compliance is registered the article states. Emission zone charges CYBRAND AEC has gained Type Approval for the Defender with SCR system. When your vehicle is converted they will send the appropriate documentation to the UK Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA). So, for example, Transport for London would be automatically notified that your registration plate refers to a Euro 6 compliant vehicle. Thus, it would not be identified for a penalty charge in that emissions zone. As other towns and cities introduce their own zones, data requested from VCA would exempt your Euro 6 vehicle. |

if its technically so easy as they make it sound wonder why the 2.2. was not updated to euro 6 at the factory? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

I hadn't clocked these posts when I posted to the Manchester clean air zone thread here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic81774-60.html but it looks like there's mileage in seeing if the conversion is actually near "free" if this pans out: Click image to enlarge |

Land Rover do not seem to be covered by the scheme which is a pity. It seems to be foe commercial vehicles.
