Wing top chequer plate dimensions
I’ve got a nice dent in the wing top, quite near to the edge of the panel. How close to the end does wing top chequer plate go? Also, who is the best supplier of black plates?

Mine stops about 10mm short of the panel edge, at the point where it turns downward. It was fitted by the dealer when the vehicle was about a year old. There's no curve in the plate, so fitting it further out wouldn't be an option. It still disguises the dents which it doesn't entirely cover, which is partly why I had it fitted.

At the front it is about 25mm from the panel edge, with a slight downward curve. At the back, it stops 30mm short of the aerial. I imagine that different makes and different vehicles make a difference, in the usual way of aftermarket items.

Peter (First Four) has this picture up on his eBay store - it's listed as Mammouth.
