How much fluid is needed to flush clutch master cylinder?
Greetings gentlemen

Im about to replace my clutch master cylinder with a Lof Powermaster and need to know how much dot 4 brake fluid to buy.
I can buy in quantities of 250ml or 1L. Asking because I never want to save brake fluid once opened ... Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

Not on a tdci, but used less than half a bottle of 250ml on an lt77 master/slave. And that was with some accidental waste as the slave piston got pushed out (engine is still out).
PS. I use dot5. That stuff seems to come in 250ml only bottles locally as is damn expensive. Reason for dot5 - if the master leaks, it does not eat the paint off the bulkhead. Something to consider?

As a precaution I would avoid using Dot 5, it may not damage your paintwork but is silicone based and can’t be mixed with dot 3,4 or 5.1.

It’s not really intended for road vehicle use. Ride like you stole it!!
If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do…

I do not think the clutch hydraulic is a critical component. But I also do not know why dot3/4 is specified for the clutch fluid. I hear somewhere that manufacturers just specified dot3/4 for the less technical people so that they do not mix up brake and clutch fluid.

How many people wanted to buy the 710 fluid? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
