little lock down project which kept me busy for a day or so ....
Obtained a second dash facia from Killer, and painted it a nice red to match the vehicle. My first time at dong some thing like this and pleased with the results .. Click image to enlarge new Dash fascia washed and ready to go Click image to enlarge Masked and painted after a primer coat - using landrover touch up paint bought from a show a couple of years ago - its more Rocha then Florenzie so more maroon than the bright red of the body but a reasonable match for the units. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The finished product ! not a perfect paint match but makes a nice improvement in the cab ! The fun part was refitting the radio and all the wires back into the space behind the dash - but managed it with out any disasters ! Had a few days touring my home county of Wiltshire and found some lovely areas to camp, with nice views. We also did some ‘pub for a night’ parking, where you can park for free at a pub as long as you use the bar or have a meal there.
Well recommended and my partner enjoyed sampling the local Gins !! Click image to enlarge The newly replaced air con was put to good use and very good it was too ! Click image to enlarge The ability to cook inside and outside of the vehicle has been fond to be a very good system - we were able to sit out eating dinner each night enjoying the evenings. Good to see you enjoying the weather and the truck and where do you find such pubs, is there a secret club we join
May I ask what chairs you have and how do you rate them? |

Hi Badger
we use 'Park for a night' app on our phones and look for pubs in the selection or brouse MoonFruit motorhome stops and wild camping - https://www.wildcamping-moonfruit.com/pubs-stopovers which has a good selection of just about all things motor camping in the UK ... UK Aires camping spots are becoming popular now and are popping up all over the country which is another option. The seats are the Frontrunner 'EXPANDER CAMPING CHAIR' and have been very good in the 2 yrs we have been using them. The fold up very impact and are quite comfortable for the type of camping we do. Not cheap but worth it in my opinion as they fit nicely in our set up. There is a nack to folding them up - but there are videos on the Frontrunner site to watch. hope that helps Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |

It does
However I sat in one of those at the Overland show and wasn't impressed with it being comfy at all, I found it too small Old Man Emu look to have launched a new style seat which is a little larger, I'll try and track one down to sit in to test! |

After lots of thoughts, we decided to fit some Safari Equip trees and rock sliders to Poppy ready for the long trips to Mongolia and beyond....( As well as adding supermarket parking protection... )
Many thanks to the forum members on here who helped make the fitting a relatively easy task,,, I was probably lucky as the sliders lined up reasonably well and only my poor drilling caused me some bolt alignment issues. I only needed one spacer for the middle outrigger on each side and did not need to trim the wheel arch .. Looks really good. I always allow myself a small victorious smile when I see paint on mine from an idiot who would've otherwise put a ding in my door, but instead did the same to their own!
I've always been of the impression that if it gets damaged doing what I bought it for, so he it. I've done my best to look after it. It has to be used. But supermarket pings absolutely get me...... |

As we all know, defender ownership is an endless task of little upgraded which is double for any camper conversion !
Made another little update to our 110 today ... a new clear window flap for the back of the poptop - we now have the main rain proof flap, the mosquito flap and the new fitted window flap. Click image to enlarge Its going to be used in the wet/gloomy days when we are sitting inside but want to see out and have more light in the back with out letting in the rain. Click image to enlarge It was a bit fiddly but with the help of a youtube video and my partners sewing skills we had a great result.
