Looking smart Al_Ra.
I’m so envious right now, and I’m picking mine up in the morning! I think that big screen is going to be a collectors item as well. Bet there’s not many more after yours getting them. Really can’t wait to get in mine now. Thanks all. Really pleased with it.
Really glad I stuck with the SE spec too, I really like the materials: the neoprene-type stuff on the grab handles and doors and the coarse leather (ette?) of the seats feels more "right" than fine leather for what I wanted from the car. Also got the rubber protection pack, no carpet anywhere. |

No carpets is the way forward, I’ve got rubber mats as well.
That black roof looks a treat with Pangea Green. I’m like a small child (of 49) waiting for Christmas. Picking up a D300 SE on Sunday. Your pictures are great and are seriously not helping my lack of patience! I’ve never driven a D300 (or any 6 cylinder) so a bit of a leap of faith.
Very nice. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X |

@carrotbay: I hadn't driven the D300 before either. You have nothing to worry about. It's a great engine. On our drive back it was very smooth and "normal" but we got stuck behind a very slow cyclist and when a small opportunity to overtake came up we took it: both my daughter and I were a bit shocked (in a good way!)

Very nice!
You don't see Pangea green with the khaki interior often, (which sounds like a natural colour combo?!) so I'm glad I took the dive on that too! How's the pano roof, I was told it doesn't open much, around a foot or so? |

Yeah Pano roof opens a pathetically small amount but I was more interested in the light it lets into cabin when closed so not disappointed at all.

The great thing with the pano roof not opening a lot is you (well on mine!) don’t get any of the buffeting inside the cabin that previous cars I’ve owned suffered badly from. Even though the mesh visor thing that pops up on the front edge of the open roof doesn’t stick up very much it does catch an awful lot of bugs and flies and needs a clean off fairly regularly. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Thanks.
I specced it primarily for the light too. A small opening is better than none though the kids love it on my current car when literally 1/2 the roof parts open. I wonder why it opens so little? Structural? One would assume if it opens then structurally it doesn’t matter how much it opens. I was tempted with the retractable fabric roof but that doesn’t let light in, and correct me if I am wrong i believe it reduces the max roof load weight quite considerably. |
