Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It’s finished other than new rear door seals and wheels (zero offset ‘wolf’ in Limestone). They painted the galv without asking, which I was initially upset about, but both of the tub corners were damaged and needed some attention, and given that I’ve never been to the bodyshop I’ll let them off. I doubt I’ll ever sell it, but if I do and want it original it’s not exactly difficult to spend a day taking them off and having them dipped. I’m looking forward to seeing how leak free a Series is with new seals everywhere! ‘68 V8 hybrid ‘83 88” station wagon ‘11110 USW |

The bodyshop finished about six weeks ago, but we’ve been waiting for wheels, which I was slow to order and they were slow to deliver.
I haven’t seen it yet - just a couple of snaps from them. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Just the rear seats and door trim to sort now. I need to fit longer wheel studs because there’s not much thread left with these wheels on. ‘68 V8 hybrid ‘83 88” station wagon ‘11110 USW |

I finally drove it for the first time in seven years! As expected, a little bit of tweaking to do, but nothing major.
One item that I don’t have is covers for the wiring for the lights in the the rear tub. Did Series 3 have these like on a Defender? ‘68 V8 hybrid ‘83 88” station wagon ‘11110 USW |

Series covers were aluminium, decent things and better than the horrible plastic Defender items. You can get replicas from YRM (I have them on my Puma DC since they are much more rugged and less intrusive than the plastic things).
You have to modify them to fit a late Defender, certainly if like mine it has the sloping side panels. |

I've got 3 sets of covers, one set definitely came off of a Defender and the other 2 are the same so i assume they also came from Defenders. All 3 sets are aluminium.
