What is this noise?
Hello Forum,

My Defender has started making this whining noise, especially when cold... What do you think is causing it?

Any advise appreciated.

Alex

The whining from the pump would normally occur when there is air in the system. This can happen if the fluid is too low. As the fluid warms and expands, the whining might come to a stop.

Start with checking the fluid level and topping up. If that doesnt do it, then there may be a leak in a seal or a line.

Do you have any leaks or drops on the ground under the car? Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

Many thanks for the help!

What is the type of fluid I need to buy for a 2003 TD5?
