Electric window wiring testing
My driver window isnt working. Fuses and switch are OK and on is pectin the wiring in the door rubber thing is in good order. I get a permanent 12V at the motor that drops to zero when I operator the switch. The other wire is permanently at zero, so I guess is this is ground and this would appear the case on the drawing.

What else should I be checking? Should I be -12V when the switch is pressed on the one that is permanently live when in the mid switch position?

Edit: I think I’m right in saying I should have 12V down each wire, and the switch drops one side to earth. If this is the case I have a wiring issue?

Having had the dashboard out recently I was panicking that I’d caught something and shorted the cable, so it was a relief to find it was nothing to do with what I’d just done and a nice easy fix. Replaced both wires at the same time on the bases that they have both done as much movement as the other.
