I need a favour!!
As you might have seen from other threads, I’m installing air con to my puma. The instructions when it comes to dressing the loom in are none existent, and there is no detail on how the pipes are supported either.

So… for those of you with air con I’d appreciate a massive favour! Can you take a few pics under the bonnet of where the pipes are supported/clipped and which route the cables take.

Massive thanks in advance.

Col

If you would of asked yesterday I was right where you needed to be.

I’ll get you photos later if nobody else has obliged.

I know one goes on the turbo side and another tube goes over the other side of the engine (and the valve is under the wing nearly) Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details

Here are some photos of my AC pipes and cables. You may notice the turbo is missing right now.

Thanks both, very much appreciated.

Kevlar: I assume you have to take the air filter box out to install the pipe from the condenser to the back of the compressor?

I’d love to see more, as many angles as possible wouldn be great, especially the point at which the brackets and clips attach.

Cheers

Thanks Kev. I have the brackets on the hoses, I wanted to know where they attach to the body.

Thanks Dinnu, that would be great.

Hi Co1, probably not in order, but here are some photos.
The compressor clutch plugs into the harness, where I am pointing with my finger.
If you need any clarification let me know.

Welcome Co1.
Fyi, my nephew had an AC retrofitted to his Defender, but I do not know what brand. 3rd picture shows a refrigerant line from the dryer that goes to the cabin. In mine, the line passes under the wing, over the windscreen washer reservoir. On his, the line is visible all the way. I think it is more of an assembly error by the ‘professional’ company that installed it. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
