Beautiful. Clearly a car that is aimed at what the customer wants (no hybrid, hydraulic steering, basic settings, etc) than any various lobbyists or a vainglorious designer. A bit like the Grenadier. Mrs Grenadier has been talking about a Cayman for a while, might shove her this way. Just hope they get the QC right as proposed. At least we know the engine, Toyota or AMG will work and be fantastic. Monsieur Le Grenadier

That is a beautiful looking car.
Lotus have been spending a lot of money at their headquarters in Hethel in Norfolk and also at another facility on the outskirts of Norwich. Coming from Norfolk, I have a very soft spot for Lotus's. I hope this investment and new model is a success for them. Reading Grenadier's comments, sadly I think I would look at a Porsche before the Lotus, but that's just me. Probably be dragged outside and publicly flogged for saying such a thing by locals with pitch forks (albeit carbon fibre pitch forks) |

Watched the live streamed launch, timed to miss the rain very nicely.
It does look nice. Keen to try the 4 pot engine. Price point seems excellent. Slightly concerned at the weight. |

Always had a soft spot for a lotus. My first non landrover car was a S3 Esprit Turbo. Contrary to popular opinion it wasn't 'Lots of trouble usually serious'. I had it for 4 years, and had no trouble with it (other than speeding tickets ).
Agree on the comment about the non lotus like weight. The Esprit was 1067kg. Still not lardy, but like everything these days getting bigger and having more safety kit... |
