Brian, I was under the impression that a standard boost alloy runs a 30mm offset ('30' cast into the back of the rim), fitting spacers effectively moves the centerline of the rim 30mm outwards to a '0mm' offset.

My 100" bitsa has boosts with 30mm spacers and 265 tyres, the tyres almost filled the arches width wise.

I used this combo on Ickle for a couple of months before I bought a set of 0 offset, deep dish alloys and 285's.

I only need to adjust the lock stops very slightly to stop the 20mm wider tyres hitting the radius arms - so I think a 0 offset is correct...... Thumbs Up

Keith, you know more about this than I do, when I fit the 265's I fit 30mm spacers which means I don't have to adjust the stop locks again when I fit the boosts with 235's. I have found by accident a way that works for the different sets of wheels I have which means no adjustments when swapping between them which seems to work for me. I will probably get a set of 285's on mods, and as I already have the spacers I don't see any issues with offset as the spacers will take care of it Thumbs Up

285/75/16 x8 BFG MT on a 2" OME lift. Using CW wheels supplied by D44 which have 6mm offset no spacers (not Disco wheels). Wheels fit the arches fine with the tread sticking out the arches just like the previous pictures - just legal. The lock seems fine and on comparative tests (greenlaning in convoy) I can see no discernable difference in lock (except that mine rarely needs a shunt on a sharp corner when others sometimes do).

I've no doubt the handling of the tyres in the wet could be bettered by a road biased or AT tyre - but I like the traction the tyres give in mud/snow/loose stuff. I find I keep up with most traffic on the twisty stuff and if I want to loon around I'll take something else out for a spin.

The steering end stops were adjusted to stop the wheels hitting the truck

but on 0mm offset 8" silversport alloys the tread is just covered by the standard arches. Keith

I'm on 10" with a 40mm offset and had no MOT worries! Checked with the DoT inspector prior to submission. Thumbs Up

Feketes boots are 1" wider than mine and his sailed through as well!

So you shouldn't have any worries whatsoever! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!
