Fitting an uprated intercooler will not upset your existing map/setup. You will likely not notice much, if any, performance gain though upon fitting with your existing map.
It is more of a requirement for stage 2 map to keep inlet temperatures in check. With regard to Allisport vs BAS... I had an Allisport fitted for a couple of years but it split twice. Both times Allisport were excellent and repaired it FOC, however I did change to a BAS as I felt it is too much faff to strip the front end down and remove the IC if it were to happen again. Performance wise, no discernible difference between the two. See here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic79020.html > 110 XS Double Cab |

i have an allisport IC fitted in my 110, been in there 10 years and fitted after a stage 1. no problems with either.
Also have a BAS intercooler in 130. again functional and does what it needs. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |
