Intercooler Question

Hi everyone, I am slowly working my way towards a stage2 remap so am considering upgrading my intercooler and hoses as the next step, currently I run a stage1 Alive remap that is perfectly fine. (2003 Td5 90)
Would installing an uprated intercooler upset my current setup ? I have a concern about the ECU getting upset as the current remap was installed on the basis of the standard intercooler and don’t really want to be constantly hitting limp mode or throwing errors until I get the opportunity to update the ECU map ?

Also on a separate note I was keen to get an Alisport IC until further research indicated issues withe them splitting open. I am now leaning more towards the BAS IC does anybody have any experience to share on this note ?

Fitting an uprated intercooler will not upset your existing map/setup. You will likely not notice much, if any, performance gain though upon fitting with your existing map.

It is more of a requirement for stage 2 map to keep inlet temperatures in check.

With regard to Allisport vs BAS... I had an Allisport fitted for a couple of years but it split twice. Both times Allisport were excellent and repaired it FOC, however I did change to a BAS as I felt it is too much faff to strip the front end down and remove the IC if it were to happen again. Performance wise, no discernible difference between the two.

i have an allisport IC fitted in my 110, been in there 10 years and fitted after a stage 1. no problems with either.

Also have a BAS intercooler in 130. again functional and does what it needs. Cheers
