Camping at Longleat

Family holiday at Longleat campsite. I hoped to see i defender pulling a caravan . Was going to Ask how it tows as hopping to change discovery 3 172000 miles for a lower mileage defender 110 . Maybe later in the week

A defender will tow it no problem, just not as comfortable to drive as a discovery.

Which Defender were you hoping to see - traditional or New/L663 ? new Defender will be the same as your D3 with more modern tech. 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Caravan manufactures did go through a period of condemning Defenders as towing vehicles because they blamed stiff suspension for fatigue on caravan drawbar and coupling. Maybe worth checking with your caravan supplier?

I thought that that was only in the era of leaf springs, pre-Defender. I've never heard of any issues with the coilers.

Did anyone else do the Longleat 4x4 weekends back in 97 / 98

This was the campsite at the end of October 1998……..

Probably why it was not repeated……
