Fire pit recommendations

Morning,

I'm looking for some advice/guidance/recommendations on folding fire pits. We've had various cheap ones for camping, generally with folding legs and thin steel but they don't last and tend to warp etc once they've been used a couple of times.

A bit of searching has found a couple of more robust options made typically from thicker 3mm steel but attracting a significant increase in price. I'm happy to spend a bit more on something that will last but I'm intrigued to see what other people have experienced.

My preferred options are looking like a choice between:

K2 Design 3mm mild steel (I suspect I'd get it without the "one life live it" branding)

or

Grill 'n Fire made from 3mm Corten steel (in theory with a 10yr guarantee)

The collapsible aspect of both of these and having the fire off the ground allowing us to use it without leaving a mark on the landscape/campsite are the main drivers. That rules out the front runner Braai style

So what do people think on the chances of 3mm steel holding up and not warping? Are there any options I haven't considered that you could recommend?

My experience is that the cast iron one last, all the steel warp/rust/fall apart. Not found a collapsable cast iron one yet.

We have one of these for the very rare occasions that we use a fire pit ...
its a fine wire mesh and holds the wood and ash off the ground with 4 legs - very cheap, very simple and folds up very small

If you can live with out it folding, i use an old beer keg, it doesn't warp and when travelling you put the logs etc inside it.

my mate has the same idea and has a bracket that holds his to the spare wheel.

We have one like this for when trailer space is tight. It does warp when hot but has lasted at least 7 years so far:

However, our #1 firepit/BBQ/oven things is an Aquaforno II which although not foldable, is telescopic so packs away smaller than when in use:

Another one that doesn't fold but we went for one of these http://www.bush-pig.co.uk/home/4570893280
It works great as a BBQ then throw some logs in it to use it as a fire pit, it even has a lid to prevent any stray embers after you've gone to bed.

A slight curveball to what you are after but Lidl do a good fire pit with a tripod and a grill for about £25. The legs unscrew from the main pit and the 3 legs that support the suspended grill also dismantle with everything going inside a carry bag the diameter of the bowl. It's a bit more of a faff to dismantle and doesn't have a lid that you can close down but the adjustable height of the grill is great for cooking and it takes proper sized logs whilst keeping the fire off the ground. Ours has survived 3 years of regular use with no problems

My scout unit has fire stands that consist of a ~800mm high collapsing trestle and a piece of 5 or 6mm plate for the top. Folds down nice and "flat" but every single plate looks like a Pringle

We use the Bushpig, for a fire pit and cooking, they have a great range of accessories too from bread oven to rotisserie.
comes in a neat bag and very easy to clean with just a wipe over with a wet wipe.....still looks like new 5 years down the line! 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

The bushpig is looking like a good option, does it have a grid for the coals to keep the heat off the base of the unit?

Off Brief as neither fold, but two variations on the theme, up/recycle either a Gas Bottle (good thickness Steel)
or use the inner drum from a washing machine, perfect perforated Stainless Steel. Plenty variations on these two

Definitely worth getting as an extra, the heat makes no difference to the base but it provides air flow around the coals and it cooks loads better.
