Has anybody on here taken delivery of an XS EDITION new Defender? I'm trying to find out if it is possible to add the adaptive cruise control to one as for some strange reason it isn't offered as an extra. I spoke with the guy from JLR retrofits but he needs an XS EDITION chassis number before he can tell me whether this can be 'switched on' Cheers Ian

Cheers, I've had a D250 SE this week on an extended test drive and think I may change from the XS. The SE with a few options seems to be better bet for me atm, although I think I've got 100's of builds saved from the configurator I may also opt for the D200 instead of the D250, the only difference I can see is the -50BHP and a slightly slower 0-60 time which doesn't really bother me at all, oh and the D200 is about £3500 cheaper! That's a lot of money for 50BHP Cheers Ian

Tell me about it, my salesman asked for my build I said pick a number between 1 and 1 million and LR complicated things more by delaying the 90 so my 20MY spec was no good so we had to go through it all again.
I can’t fault the D200 so far and I don’t feel I’ve got £3.5k less of a car. As you say it’s a lot of cash for 50 horses and 70Nm of extra torque. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

D200 is perfect. Near enough the power and torque of my old one and a 50% safety margin built in to the engine design.
Plus if you’re so inclined there are companies that will put the factory D250 or D300 map on for you for a couple of hundred quid - saving you a fortune. |

For me its about the P400.... hence the XS option. The X version would be another £18k so doesnt stack up. However if I was going with diesel I would be looking at the D200 |

Not yet - mine is apparently built, but not yet released (no sure what that means). So I am guessing the earliest for me will be end of July, the latest is anyone's guess...

This may be my imagination, but I am convinced that the XS colour choice has changed in the last few days in the configurator. I am sure the standard colours were black, silver and grey (sure because I m bored of monotony which frustrated me!), but the grey has now been replaced with the bronze colour (the one my children would call poo brown if I got one). Silicon silver is also still available for extra money

No they haven’t changed , I’ve been looking at them for a while as I fancy a XS. My only gripe is the lack of Adaptive cruise control, which I have on my present car. Just hope that Mo at LR retrofits can configure on a XS

I've decided to go with a Defender D200 SE instead, I placed my order yesterday and have put a thread in the orders section of the site with all the options I've chosen

Trust me...if Mo can add the WiFi hotspot and the torque vectoring electronic rear differential as an oem spec, he can add adaptive cruise. All 2020’s have the adaptive cruise hardware even if it isn’t turned on, idk about 21 or 22 models, but you can easily buy the hardware and Mo can turn it on if it doesn’t come with it.

IIRC in one of their many videos Powerfuluk found that their 110 S had all the kit for Adaptive Cruise, they only needed to enable it using their fault finding tool. The sensor for it is behind the green oval badge on the front grille.
