my truck cab has an OME 2" lift, i run 255.85R16 BFG MTS on it, they fill the arches sufficiently and are narrow enough to not sacrifice lock. Cheers

With your vnt turbo and re-programming with tyres that size i would expect you to be up on the wrong side of 100 (i would'nt want to try) but rolling diameter and loads of BHP and torque you should be flying. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

I'm on 285/75 16 on BFG A/T's on a standard tune 110 puma and can sit on the speed limiter all day, they fill the arches and speedo is spot on.

I'll measure and try to photo tomorrow, but on 0mm offset 8" silversport alloys the tread is just covered by the standard arches.

If you go 285's you will need an offset of 30mm whether that's with spacers or inbuilt into the wheel. I have a few sets of wheels and tyres, 305/70x16 mickey T's on pro comp alloys I bought from Discocuzzy, 265/75x16 BFG MT 's on mods and GG TR's 235/85x16 on boosts. I did have a set of BFG AT's 235/85x16 on mods but gave them to my mate as I was not impressed with them in the wet. The best tyre I have is the 305 Mickey Thomson Baja ATZ's as the really do stick to the road. They are a good all round tyre in mud and snow and are brilliant, yes brilliant in soft sand whilst towing the boat for launch/recovery. As there is so much rubber in contact with the tarmac you can fly around bends with ease and I've not noticed any problems with the engine turning the wheel with the remap, I bottled it at 97mph on the M74 When the GG TR's wear down I will replace them with a set of Mickey T ATZ's in 265 on the boosts. I don't have a lift on the Puma but there is no clearance issues with the 305's but I haven't a lot of extra weight up front. I do have a set of OME springs for the 110 which were bought in anticipation of fitting larger wheels but subsequently were not needed.
The 305 size will probably suit you better Steve as you have a lift and they fill the arches nicely, Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge When I get back home I have some pics showing the difference between the 235's, 265's and 305's in snow as I was the only person to go up the same road showing the differences between them , so I can post them if it helps? HTH Brian. |
