Thanks Chris. I’ve got those, but they don’t help (I understand the instructions), it’s the bracket design which seems to be wrong (I’m wondering if I may have been sent the guards for an earlier model year and thus perhaps different bolt spacing).

Not sure if anyone else found a better solution, but I just used a hacksaw and BFI.

I shall be returning them if they not correct. As they cost & if not engineered correctly.

Hey folks I have had these fitted to my 110 for 8 years or so now. Happy to pop out and get some photos for you...
I do recall the instructions being terrible with this kit. |

Hi Geobloke
I can see from your pic the bolt positions & bolt type are different to ours. It appears the guard brackets are correct for your year of Defender. Ive sussed it out now..these guards do not fit a Puma Defender with seat belts. As the reinforcing bracket for the belts is in the way & also creates different bolt positions. The guards are too large & bolt holes incorrect. |

So I contacted MSS and was told that the design of the guard hasn’t changed; there’s only one version available and it’s down to the individual to modify to fit their particular Defender.

It seems that most upgrades require some modification of the new component, or the vehicle, usually both, together with some additional components that you have to buy or fabricate yourself.
Sometimes it's half the fun, sometimes it's a ****** nuisance, and not easy to predict which in advance. |
