Lol, yes but possibly not in the manner you're thinking of.

The hammer was used to strike a centre punch.

The vice secured the sheet metal folder i recently bought on ebay from "tinman".

Thumbs Up

Yesterday I made a 300 mile round trip to deepest South Wales to collect a pair of point levers that had been sat in somebody's shed for 30-odd years.

They're pretty big, which necessitated removal of the dog guard and load deck. Being made of cast iron, they're also bloomin' heavy!

Not so long ago I collected a complete 32-lever ex-GWR SB lever frame, in a dismantled state, interlocking and all. I can vouch for the fact that even the lightest parts are heavy.

Where are your levers destined to be used?

A friend of mine has a short 10 inch gauge railway in his garden complete with a signal and one of these is destined to operate it. Our original plan was to split them and have one each but they're such a complete pair (one is a facing point lock and the other is a point lever) that we've decided that they should stay together. Darren

Spent a good hour trying to find out why my passenger side electric window has stopped working so randomly.

Conclusion - broken wire, so tonight's job is to try find that.

Thank you for the compliment. I’m pleased with how it all turned out. This is the folder...

It’s not exactly a precision instrument, more of a home workshop type fabrication utilising angle iron but it did the job well without any drama. Coped fine with the sizes of 3mm plate I used for the brackets. I would have preferred a longer handle for more leverage but that said, I’ve been planning out an extended workbench project so none of my bench mounted equipment is bolted down at the moment - including the vice in which the folder is clamped. A length of tube over the handle would have helped but you know how it is - as soon as we have a garage clear out, we find a pressing need for something we’ve just thrown out! Rolling Eyes
