yrm are very good but the ones that overlander sells are better as they have an indentation/lip that gives you room to shut the door properly. Also provider barrier to water ingress.

I think these are the ones with the lip!

The YRM ones may fit your truck perfectly ,they didnt on mine but thats LR for you! Laughing

Good point Nitram, they fit mine perfectly but I’ve heard of others having issues. Good old LR tolerances!

I have very those ones from 4x4 Overlander and have to say that I am very disappointed with them.

I know that landrovers are infamous for their fit/ finishes/ tolerances etc but unless you want
to add larger washers than those supplied with the fixings to cover the fitting / fixing holes then
they are going to be a pretty ugly fit.

If you fit the larger washers which has been suggested then you are raising the head of the bolt even further which will interfere with the door rubber Which is what the profile is supposed to prevent.

I have bought the yrm ones to replace them.

For double the price of the yrm ones, I don’t think they are worth it!

These are just my opinions and experiences based on the product and I understand that others may have a different opinion.

I will be offering these up for sale next week as others may be happy with the fit!

All I know is that with the yrm ones I couldn't shut the door and with the profiles ones I could! there was also issue of water ingress with the yarn ones.perhaps you could feedback to overlander as hole diameter could be changed.....not an issue for me though.

I understand what you are saying, However, when paying the price of these products then perhaps this is something that the
Developers should have addressed prior to being brought to market.

I certainly don’t expect to pay this price for what in my opinion is a product that is not fit for
purpose ( in it’s current form ) and have to advise a company of it’s engineering shortfalls especially
after I have bought the product.

I always thought that this was what Product / Market testing was for before being actually brought to market.

I understand the concept and would agree that these covers / retainers would probably be fit for purpose if they solved what I think is
a simple engineering issue. But again, this is only my opinion based on my experiences...

I would be interested to hear of other’s experiences of the yrm products and see if they have
had the issues that you describe only for the reason that I haven’t yet fitted the yrm sill covers / carpet retainers myself.

I’ve recently added carpet and soundproofing to my SWB Puma and wanted to fit some of these. Reading posts and looking carefully at my doors/sills I couldn’t see the benefits of the stepped profile (I think the only benefit would have required me to trim the edge of the carpet and then it might not have gripped it properly). But what I did was ensure that the soundproofing was cut a little short of the threshers so they were only on carpet and not both. I also asked a few eBay sellers what thickness of stainless theirs were made of- I didn’t want dimples round the bolts when I tightened them and was concerned 1.5mm might be too thin (I note that YRM uses 1.5mm).

In the end I went with eBay item eBay Item No. 373454305944- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373454305944?ep...Sw46ZgImhW

The doors on my 2014 XS still close but need a bit more of a slam unless a window is open. I had to loosen the sills to make a bit more space and ease one of their mounting brackets a little (and tighten them up again after pressing them back once the threshers were in). And even with 3mm stainless there is a little dimpling but I’m hoping that eases over time as the carpet compresses. I also put a little silicone oil on the bottom rubber seal in case it needed it to ease round the edge of the thresher. Cheers, Guy.

Over the past year I've been working on my 90 project and have spent a significant amount on new parts and "bling". I could write a short book on the trouble I've had with the parts and trouble fitting them. If not trouble, then unnecessary work. Half the time it has been shockingly poor instructions that are vague, incorrect, or black and white photos of black objects being fitted to black vehicles. Apart from the usual smattering of Chinese suppliers whose standards and instructions, some good and some bad, that we have come to expect and put up with, almost all of my trouble has been with UK manufacturers and suppliers. The non-UK was Italian and for the price I paid and the trouble I had fitting and their attitude, it was outrageous.

None of my problems could be attributed to Land Rover flexible tolerances. Swingaway wheel carrier, rear corner bumperettes, security locks and other devices, windows, driver's door, dash console, centre auto console, body plates, front bumper, external LED lights, window handles, door trims, carling switches, dab aerial, internal LED lights, rock sliders and paint. All trouble. All took 10 times longer to fit than they should have. Most of these UK origin or UK design/marketed.

But here was one success story. Carpet retainer plates off Ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324068088409

They fitted. Doors close. No problem. I was shocked. I had to have a cup of tea and some chocolate hobnobs after fitting them.

There’s a common theme I see appearing across numerous threads about the shoddy products, back-up and customer service we seem to accept as Land Rover enthusiasts. It’s really quite depressing Sad 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Defender Upgrades do a set with concealed fixings - very neat. I sold a couple of sets on here recently and am now wishing I'd kept them since buying a second Defender.

Griff90bowler, I apologise if my comments have confused the issue for you given you asked a simple question.

I am not the only person on the forum who has been unhappy with the product and
merely thought it worth bringing to your attention so you could make an informed choice and what to expect
From the product.
