Yeah ive done it, not too long ago either, when i asked at one of the shows Pete said it will take one of his boys 30 mins to fit it if i bought it there, sods law i went away and called later that day and they had sold out.
i would say an hour would be more realistic but i decided to fit the silicone hoses at the same time, then i decided to address the rusty aircon rad brackets then i decided to paint the front grill, then i fitted the bonnet catch guard the list goes on! That’s what I wanted to hear.
The intention much like yours is to fit the cable guard, the silicone hoses and just a general tidy up of the crusty / rusty areas that are hard to address otherwise. Thanks for the info 😬 |

The lugs are easily cut off just being thin plastic ideally by means of a battery hacksaw but at worse a hacksaw blade wrapped in a rag. The silicone hoses can be difficult to push on due to the restricted space around the intercooler stubs and radiator/inner wing confines. Make double sure that the bonnet cable release is operating correctly before refitting the front panel as its very difficult to access the catch once everything is refitted. Also check the bonnet safety hook point doesnt collide with your new cooler!

All very good advice, it sounds like some of it at least is based on
Personal experience which is how I generally find out where I have went wrong. 😳 Always better to be prepared for the job in hand and some of that information is probably Not what I would have considered |

i used Jenolite on the rusty bits especially the aircon brackets, worked a treat and well recommended

Rossy110, I would have taken you up on the offer but
unfortunately, I am based just outside Edinburgh. I have never used Jenolite before, must give that a go. Are there any pointers to aid the fitment of the hoses, dunking in hot water to soften up etc. Or is that a no no with silicone hoses🤔 |

The hoses are the worst and very tight to get on, i used silicone lubricant but i don't think it helped much, not sure about the hot water trick 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

To add to this, if I may, are there any consumables I should replace while at it (have a BAS ready to go too)? Thinking aircon condenser as mine is shot, anything else?

Used to stick the end of the hoses in a mug ( or other receptacle ) of hot water when having to fit new hoses
To vehicles, softened them up and made them easier to go over the ends of the pipe work although not sure if it is advisable or even possible to do the same with silicone hoses. |

I fitted the BAS intercooler and was expecting the silicon hoses to give some challenges. I just left them outside in the sun for a short while before the job, and they all went on quite easily. For once, I was pleasantly surprised!
