I enjoyed a fantastic day on Salisbury Plain, it felt so good to finally be able to escape the house!
Along the way I picked up some scratches to my usually pristine firenze red body work on my puma 110. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best products / tools to help be rid of them? |

As stated above..
It depends on Depth of scratch Type of finish.. ie solid colour or lacquer coat? Very minor scratches will hide with T- cut or similar. Slightly heavier scratches use Farecla G3. Both products use by hand. A body shop is the next step...unless you want to try machine polishing yourself. Clemmo👍 Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... If you rub a wet finger over the scratch and it disappears normally it will only need a light finesse cut back, anything deeper really depends on the severity of it.
Will they show in a photo? Ride like you stole it!! If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do… 2011 2.4 Puma 90 HT |

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into those products. I washed it to get all (well some) of the Salisbury mud off & I couldn't see the scratches when it was wet, which I'm taking to be a good sign that they are not so deep. Thanks again.

Personally I’d not go any more course than Farecla G10 unless experienced, and then up to polish. Go with the lightest possible first the clear is not very thick so be very careful.
It is however quite hard which is a good thing, at least on mine it is but you don’t have much thickness to play with. From what you’ve said a basic standard polish should work. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Once you have had your first 50 scratches you stop worrying about them, even more so when you get the mother of all scratches down one side that means all the others just melt away......
This was 'collected' on the lane to Salisbury Race Course. Click image to enlarge Added benefit is that you can pull out in front of leased BMW'S and Mercedes and nobody wants to park next to you...win win |

99.9 % of the Plain is fine, go and enjoy.
The lane on the day runs from just south of Salisbury to the racecourse. It fact the last time I was there it was narrower and lower than the Defender.. As councils aren’t clearing lanes it is down to vehicle use to keep them open. It’s all to easy for the councils to do nothing and then down grade a lane. Unfortunately with thinking like this the overgrowth also hinders horse riders, cyclists and other users. |
