I've done that and it reads that same 480ohms at the sender unit itself

I've also removed the sender, not entirely from the tank but removed the ring and lifeted it up, it reads higher resistance at that point, 600ohms, but went back to the original stuck at 480ohms reading when I put it back in the full tank.
Is this a faulty sender? Can it be fixed or should I replace it? Thanks! |

I'll try that. I didn't remove it completely from teh tank yesterday as I wasn't sure why it wasn't coming up easily, didn't want to damage it, I'll do it asap

you saying that the tank unit was replaced with the engine how long ago as most LR parts have two year warranty from date of perchance

It's about six weeks old, original lr part. I'll take it out and inspect it properly, is there anything I should be looking for?

check plug and socket and wires on the unit
