Does this absolutley isolate the fault to the sender unit? or a problem wiring in loom and tank unit plug

only way to prove that is isolate sender unit from the chasse loom wiring and test resistance value at sender only

I've also removed the sender, not entirely from the tank but removed the ring and lifeted it up, it reads higher resistance at that point, 600ohms, but went back to the original stuck at 480ohms reading when I put it back in the full tank.

Is this a faulty sender? Can it be fixed or should I replace it?

Thanks!

I'll try that. I didn't remove it completely from teh tank yesterday as I wasn't sure why it wasn't coming up easily, didn't want to damage it, I'll do it asap

It's about six weeks old, original lr part. I'll take it out and inspect it properly, is there anything I should be looking for?
