2.4tdci engine oil leak

Hi, does anyone have any idea where this oil could be coming from, there isn’t any sign of oil under the bonnet, it’s just below and dripping on the axle and blowing back over the sump. Thanks

Sump needs replacing and a new seal, I had that a couple of years ago.
At least it looks that way unless it’s from even further up.

It was leaking from the seal on mine, which looks similar to what you have going on there.

It’s not overly expensive luckily, but do remember the sump is really important and some have been known to go though if very aged and then you’d have big problems. They are surprisingly thin. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

It is above the sump I think, and dripping down and blowing back across it.

2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Alaska White

Maybe you could do a picture from the top side.
Maybe it's the seal behind the crankshaft pulley or it's simply the plastic cover form the front cover which is covering the high pressure pump gear or it is something else. It's just not to see on these pictures.

Yes, it is. The LR Part number is: LR004639, the Ford number is: 3S7Q-6095-AA.

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Buckingham Blue

You may find it's the crankshaft seal or cover as this is likely to fail over time than the HP pump cover which has no force against it.

The covers for both the crankshaft and HP pump can be sealed with a decent motor sealant without replacing anything
