Even if that was true, how is deflecting anything other than a denial of the issues JLR have; and are now starting to speak about openly at a senior management level?
I don't see them saying "all the others are just as bad, so let's do nothing"... |

I do forget your a JLR board consultation, sorry
My point was there was and is always a beating of British cars...it’s a bit like the millennium dome. Regardless of reality a few scream how bad they are and the myth is perpetuated. First point all cars have faults As mentioned above I know more people with BMWs that have had serious issues, yet they are always stated as great and JLR cars awful. We have 2 new land rovers a year have long term ones and the position they are bad or more accurately any worse, is wrong But that’s the problem with forums rarely do people come to praise they come to complain. Warranty costs are complicated, but I’m sure you picked up on that. It links to expects, impact, relative to build, dealers etc. The position is complicated, like a friend who doesn’t give his JLR car any car and is 10yrs it occasionally breaks...this is a big deal...but when the Mitsubishi pick breaks it’s just ignored. Which goes back to the point on expectations The JLR dealer network is more the problem again on many levels My last point all cars have faults, I don’t believe from all the JLR cars we have had to date it’s a deal Mike |

Why do people extrapolate from the "I know a neighbour" to proclaim large industry wide surveys are just perpetuating myths?
As to the snarky personal comment, I take it you are unhappy that I've 3 references from senior JLR managers ~ are they the ones "regardless of reality a few scream how bad they are" now? Facing up to uncomfortable truths and then resolving them will make JLR a better company, building better vehicles ~ your road ~ didn't you previously advocate that all they need to do is sell more vehicles? ~ was leading to bankruptcy. |

5 Years is very tempting.. and lets face it, probably very necessary too. That might be enough o tip over the edge into buying one new. I was previously waiting for a low milage used model at 2 years old.

We already had a defacto 5 year warranty anyways here for most of the sale of the defender.
It was just administered by Allianz on behalf of Land Rover. The fact that LR just changed over to 5 year unlimited means little in the Australian market, as the dealers (and LR) are bound by consumer law as it sits. Because they have offered these new warranties, it is very likely that if you had a problem at 4 years say with 150,000km they wouldn't NOT honour the warrranty. The argument would be made that the average consumer would expect their car to last at least 5 years anyways, so this is just coming back in line with ACCC and australian consumer law. |

Rather a poor choice of words... The devil is always in the detail, and the irony is bumpers are excluded as they are not part of the vehicle bodywork but attachments to it. "excluding attachments such as bright trim, bumpers, mouldings, hinges and road wheels." Oh and good luck with taking your 12 volt battery back in year 4... |

I notice the Allianz element did not mirror the wording of the JLR warranty but stated "Covering over 4,500 vehicle components for up to 2 additional years.". You have to wonder that when making a claim the response would be that the item was 4,502 on the list and not covered. In all seriousness your ACL seems to do a sterling job of protecting you. If only we had something that worked as well. |

https://www.instagram.com/p/CNGy6gyLMBy/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CNG8E1WsFj1/ "Patented 2inch subframe lifts are now available from New Defender Mods. Pictured here is the 2inch subframe lift/bullbar combo with lift rods still in (in off road mode) Last 2 pics are subframe lift with rods in normal height. Rods will be removed soon to give full 2 Inches of lift with no compromise. Why is this such big news? Well this lift is like no other lift on the market, it keeps suspension 100% stock as @landrover intended and lifts the combined body/frame up off the suspension subframe. This means you get a full 2inch lift, keep your downtravel thats usually lost with lift rods and your susp geometry is as close to factory as possible. Lift rods whilst they look good reduce your down travel offroad and have your suspension always in extended mode. Now for some 35s 😎 New Defender mods was proud to work with J Auston Fab in getting a 2inch kit available to the market, Jacks using his pioneered & patented system. Our supplier Jack Auston has been building these type of kits for new rovers since 2015 and this is why we reached out to him. He's a true legend. New defender mods is proud to be now supplying these lifts to anyone that wants them no mater where they live on earth at the best price possible, wholesale enquiries also welcome. Reach out via dm or email if you would like the best lift in your new defender! And it doesn't stop there 3inch and 5inch lifts are also available, want to run, 33s, 34s, 35s, 37s or even 40s no problems we can help you out!" -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ Last edited by Naks on 1st Apr 2021 7:19am. This is a pretty big modification and one I think will be very popular especially in USA for bouldering. Maybe put this in the modifications & maintenance section of the group

If you lift it this much, surely you will have to reset the wishbone bushes? They should be tightened at normal ride height, so if they spend their life under strain at this lift, they are going to fail eventually I think?
Edit!! Forget that, I just saw the bit that it’s raising the body from the subframes. That’s major stuff. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

I guess it's a variation on the kits for other JLR models:
http://jaustonfab.com/range-rover-lift-kits/ It looks quite good in this iteration: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Although which version of the kit is closer to the Defender? Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
