So to recap, is everyone confident that there is no lasting detrimental effect from your issue? It was all just software and/or a simple fix? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

3 separate faults but all 3 happened together so it was unknown if they were connected or not at the time of reporting.
1) AWD going into 2WD was a software issue fixed with in the dealership with some sort of patch. 2) mechanical noise when braking fixed by bending the heat shield away from the prop on the rear flange. 3) differentials locking and unlocking randomly, requires a software patch which is currently being developed and should be at the dealership on the 15th of April for manual installation. Sounds a mess on this thread but at the time all 3 happened exactly the same time and the car was literally a week or so old so couldn’t identify if they were separate faults or connected to each other. My vehicle was off the road for 2 weeks so it’s had the service department demented trying to sort it out with LR technical department. |

Also the first time I had taken the vehicle into the dealership they sent it back and given the green light that everything was fine when all of these faults were still there! That’s when I got p!ssed off and got LR solutions involved to case manage the problems with the dealership service department, once they got involved the dealership took it seriously but it should never of been handed back to me like that in the first place. In total 3 LR assist call outs and 2x in the service department, basically 3 weeks of my first months ownership the car as off the road.

My car is booked in next Tuesday for the differentials software patch. Apparently it’s a quick install 30 minutes but I’m getting few other things done, rear tow eyes fitted, plastic passenger side bottom trim clip missing, inspection of satin wrap peeling away above rear tail lights and a rattle coming from the passenger area inside the car.

Can you see if you can get any references (numbers) so that I have the details for my dealer... who says they know nothing about it.... but agreed to book me in mid May for this update and also some other minor issues.
Based on some photos that show the 2 screens showing different data.. THANKS |

Hi Simon, well yes and no…. The dealership were expecting to plug my car into the computer and do the patch but LR TA haven’t done it yet and also that it will now be a SOTA update rather than done at the dealership. They don’t know when that will be just that one of the updates I get in the future will fix it I asked if it was definitely just a software problem and not actually affecting the differentials whilst driving and they said 100% only software glitch.
There was also two recall fixes they did/attempted which I was not expecting. One was the window pillars the bottom section need replacing but the ones that were sent are the wrong ones so it’s going back and also something else which I can’t remember but it will be on the job sheet when they have typed it up (possibly the front suspension problem that is known about in this group). My tow eyes are fitted now so I’m happy with that but anyone that’s getting the tow eyes fitted need to be aware the filler plates are not supplied with the tow hoops, luckily I ordered a set off powerful uk last week as seem to recall Tim of Scotland mentioned this a long time ago, I figured for £15 it was worth having a backup set in case they did fit them. |

I think mine are official Land Rover fillers they had a LR code on them.
I should get my job sheet back in a couple of days. I’ll chase up if they haven’t like I had to last time. It’s frustrating about the differentials glitch because you can’t tell what they are doing but I’ll give them another couple of months then it’s back to me bugging everyone at LR again |
