Sounds amazing. As a snowflake millennial, I had to sell both kidneys, an eye and my soul to buy my house. Not even enough cash to buy myself a tiny violin. Wink https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

And it turns out GS Censored up my finance a tad (doing it on a 4 cylinder D200, instead of a 6 cylinder, there's a £2k GMFV difference which might interest people) but have now corrected all of that with them and am within 40p of where I started, which keeps SWMBO happy Rolling with laughter

Out of interest is it PCP? What rates?

GS Goldman Sachs?

Nearly had a heart attack this afternoon, dealer finance guy rang me (on a Saturday!) whilst I was wandering round B&Q looking for external door trim - he wanted to know why I'd not signed the finance forms on-line because I was picking my car up on Monday 29th Shocked

I corrected him that it was Tuesday (I know they need the time to pit all my bits on) and it turned out the finance dept had my email address wrong FFS - anyway, all Finance now signed, I have a downpayment to make which is the third of the value of the vehicle which I think they thought was coming yesterday - but I told a white lie today about it got too late Friday and I wanted to make the tranfer during the working day so I could check its gone across blah blah blah so I get another 3 days of interest and they don't... Whistle

So my little countdown clock is now down to two and a half days!!! Sooo close... can't wait! Thumbs Up Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

We just did our down payment at the dealer when collecting the car by bank transfer. There was no way I was paying it until I saw the car was as expected.
Must admit I was well impressed by Peter Vardy set-up in Aberdeen.
Staff were brill. 90S D250 fuji and loving it.

^^^^ Physically how did you do it? I've got to ping them over £15k and was simply going to set GS up as Payee on my Natwest Banking App and make the payment using the App to that new payee. I've sent similar sized moneys across to family member accounts using the App before but I am nervous of it going wrong on the day and they 'turn me away' until its sorted! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Nat west app is the same as RBS I think. There is a £10k limit on first payments. I made 2 payments to cover mine, but did it on the pc website rather than the app. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Cheers Gareth - I've just set them up as a Payee tonight, so I'll probably have to do the same, two payments - I want a photo of the inside of the vehicle before I make the payment - there was some kerfuffle over the Acorn interior selection and despite my salesman verbally assuring me he had sorted it, I realise I have no actual communication via text or email to confirm. Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm hoping this might be my last post in this thread (future posts will be in the My L663 Defender subforum Cool )

Salesman has picked up my photo request of the interior of the car when it arrives at dealership - which should be today! Very Happy Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

^^^ potentially the wrong colour - when I added tints, the stupid build configurator defaulted seat colour back to black without me noticing and the build code I sent in was with ebony seats which I emailed to the dealer - with 30 minutes I'd realised my mistake and emailed him about it - he phoned me back at the time and said it didn't matter as he'd manually corrected the selection back to acorn and I thought that was that....

Moving on to Friday, when he called to say I was getting the car early, he said the order form I was to sign still said black but not to worry as he'd personally made sure that the factory built it with acorn - over the weekend I realised that I had NO written confirmation of the seat colour being acorn and realised that there could be a problem with me having not a leg to stand on if it turned up ebony. So today I asked for a photo relating to this saying my transfer of £15K today would be dependent on the seats being the right colour.

So we will see...

Footnote - if its ebony it won't actually be the end of the world, but I will extract some accessory value from GS if it is. Whistle Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

If it is black it is the end of the world but fixable. Just make the initial payment, set up the direct debit for ongoing payments, get the service plan in place, and the insurance, then I’ll take it off your hands and suffer the black upholstery for you. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
