Despite the fact that they are very good, I don't think they were ever a big seller in part, I suspect, because they were always very expensive. Also, Dixon Bate were taken over by Bradleys (I think) and there was a degree of rationalisation of products afterwards. Darren

So very true a good few years ago I phoned Dixon Bate who at the time were based in Chester as I needed a part urgently. To my surprise, they offered to bring the part to Wales a journey of about seventy miles that afternoon, which they did, and a couple of hours later a guy from Dixon bate was knocking at my door. I contacted them to try to get a new damper for a Penman style trailer coupling. The "new" Bradley denied ever making such a thing, even after I emailed a photo showing their name, part number, and NSN on the coupling. They were not just unhelpful but offhand, dismissive, and generally rude too. It was a very disappointing experience. I'm still looking for a damper, if anyone knows where I can get one. |
