I love the old Defender too - very nearly bought one of the last in 2015 but SWMBO was having none of it after the luxury of the Disco's (listening to her turns out to have been a bad move financially of course - isn't it always? ) After 5 years of unexciting motoring in a pickup, the New Defender however IS acceptable (apart from the price, but I'm paying so was able to overrule) and even before it arrives I already love it. (Roll on delivery day!) There's clearly a place for both vehicles and there should be respect between the two owner groups for their choice. ^^^ Whilst an interesting little render, the rear of the 'cab' is far too short - you need all of the rear door length and more to cater for the second row of seats
Assuming the pickup comes, I think its going to have to be derived from the 130 platform to allow for the 'cab' length to cater for 2 rows and still provide a bed length worth having - for comparison my doublecab Isuzu Dmax (KB300 in ZA) was 5.3m long with a bed length of 1.5m - the 130 is mooted to be 5.1m long as compared to the 110's 4.7m Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history) |

I haven’t watched the new Top Gears, not a fan of the new line up trying to do what the old trio done well, but I may make an exception just because it’s the Scottish Highlands, one of the most beautiful places in the world, and of course the new Defender. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
