Trailbear, your Mac is built to run windows as a secondary operating system, the tools to do so are on your Mac already, it just takes a little reading and some very simple steps to do it.

Once done, you will turn the Mac on and be greeted with a fully functioning Windows system laptop, no dodgy copies of windows needed, it's free.

You can swap between Windows and the Mac OS very easily, so don't be put off by thinking you've lost the Mac abilities, you haven't.

Once installed, your Mac will act 100% like a windows laptop.

You can do this by following either of these links or get someone to sit with you whilst you do it Wink

For windows 7 install

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/...21eb58ec6f

For windows 10 install

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201468

Here's a video showing the process;

I've used Windows machines for nearly 20 years and only now do I use Macs as it's just easier and if I need a windows program, I just swap over on the MacBook, it's the best of both worlds imho.

Right, I’m gonna give it a go, one question though, should I use windows 7 or 10?

Cannot advise on which version of Windows to use, but do make certain you have a time machine backup of your Mac before you start.
Not intended to put you off, just safety first.
Bootcamp really is simple to do.

It does depend on which version the Nanocom prefers to run on? If you want to do this for just this program then go with what it is suited too.

Win 7 will use a lot less space ( I think it's 16gb ) over windows 10 ( I believe mine is 48gb to include space for updates )

Balvaig's point about back up is good too.

Yep, well that’s not good, my Mac with it being new apparently comes with apples own processor
Which doesn’t support Windows....brilliant.

The wonders of modern technology Big Cry You are correct, and it also appears that programmes like Parallels also do not work at the moment with this new processor.

Technology was supposed to make life easier and better.
Most of the new Defender problems appearing in the forum seem to be technology based.
Never had these problems with my Morris 1000.

So frustrating but I never gave it a thought that it may not work with a Mac, seems to be
a rather expensive limited bit of equipment for me😫
