What do you mean by selector fork out of line?
Do you mean part 10 with the opening where the gear stick is mounted on part 1 in attached drawing? https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...ange_45150 I happened to remove the gear stick on a Puma for maintenance, and noticed that the selector shaft was also more to the left compared to the opening. But I would say that in my case, it would possibly affect 5th and 6th, not reverse. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Unfortunately without more (and more specific) information it will be almost impossible to offer useful advice, just to say the "selector fork was out of line" is too vague, for a start there are four "selector forks" in the MT82.
The gear selection mechanism in the MT82 is fairly complex, certainly when compared to earlier boxes, and is relatively fragile, so it is possible that something has become bent. I wouldn't have thought it would too difficult to diagnose if you have the dismantled box in front of you though. You are clearly using a garage not doing it yourself, from what you've written, and they should be able to sort it out. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check out forum member Gloucesternige's videos here and here. |
