Melvill & Moon seat covers
Exmoor Trim no longer stock Melvill & Moon seat covers, does anyone know of anywhere where there may be some stock left. I'm looking for a front pair of canvas seat covers (sand coloured) to fit a 2011 defender. If I have no luck I'll have to try and import some direct from SA.

I've tried Exmoor Trim, Brookwell and John Craddocks and these have none left in stock, guess they could be getting a bit thin on the groundin the UK.

Top Tip for Melvill & Moons!
Top Tip for Melvill & Moons if they're faded!

Thought I'd add this onto this thread.

Not sure about anyone elses but I have the grey colour Melvill & Moon seat covers and they had become quite faded on the fronts due to sunlight and as a result were beginning to look tired and grubby (although they're not). My rear ones are fine due to the 95% rear window tints. So I decided to do something about it, I bought 2 sachets of Dylon fabric dye, the machine wash variety. I chose velvet black but they do a grey almost the same colour as original if you prefer!
Two sachets are enough for two seats in total (6 covers). This is the best way to dye them:

Wash them first (I did mine on a cold wash in the washing machine on a gentle wash).
Semi dry them, I hung mine on a couple of poles in the garden for a day.
Fill a suitable container with about 12 - 15 litres of warm (not hot) water and mix in the two sachets of Dylon machine wash dye.
Soak the covers ensuring they are totally submersed for at least 12 hours, Turning them over half way through the 12 hours. Occasionally 'agitate' the water, I used a broom pole and poked the covers a bit!
Drain, hang them up and allow them to dry, do not rinse or wash after dyeing. Once dry the dye is 'fixed!'
Finally once the covers have been refitted go over them with a bucket of soapy water and a damp clean dishcloth.

The end result is abolutely superb. If possible use a container that allows you to soak the covers flat. (The bath is ideal for total even cover of the dye! (Missus wouldn't let me use the bath.) I used a plastic box I had!

Will scotchguard them before refitting I think.

Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Exmoor Trim now make their own version of M&M covers and Craddocks are an Exmoor trim outlet which could explain a bit!

Exactly why Chris, have spent the last few weeks looking and was even told M&M had stopped making them

Anyway I opted for Escape Gear and they are fantastic seat canvas covers plus about £100 less and better in my opinion, all be it v limited Very Happy , than Exmoor Trim

They look great and seem very hard wearing

M&M's email for those that need it. sales@melvillandmoon.com

I had trouble finding it last year however eventually shipping from the UK was much cheaper than direct from SA. Sounds like UK is not an option any longer.

Although they'll last a lifetime I'd buy them again regardless of price. Can't imagine anything else would come close.

Me too! I don't use my Defender anywhere much as I used to and didn't give due consideration to how much the grey colour would fade sitting in direct sunlight. Never mind a strategically placed blanket and/or a sunscreen will prevent it from happening again.

Quick before and after picture from the colour application....See previous post.... Thumbs Up

My sand coloured ones have faded due to light coming through the double cab rear window. They look bloody awful so i might well try some dye if i can find the right colour. Thumbs Up 130 crew cab

No sand colour unfortunately. I went black for convenience and coverage. Another dye manufacturer may have a closer colour....My rears are ok it was the fronts that had faded....

Linky thingy....
