Hello
Just read you post, some nice work you have done Out of interest what compressor do you use for the spraying as I really would like one once my garage build is done and the rustproofing kit was that easy to prepare / use. What kit did you use, rattle can or your compressor? Cheers |

Paint was aerosols this time but use a small machine mart compressor normally
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-tig...ompressor/ It’s at its limit but does me. Rustproofing was from rejel and the messiest job I’ve ever done but well worth it. Due a top up now but still looks good as commented on by the not guy this week. |

This! Having exactly the same issue trying to get it to return the last little bit to close off the heat. Not such an issue in the winter but when it’s hot outside it got rather warm inside. Off to find a spring now! |

Too strong a spring and the notches on the dial won’t hold. Too weak and the valve doesn’t close. Got to get it just right👍

Oil service came on today only 7000 miles since last one six months ago. Usually get about 10000 but have changed my route to work as the traffic situation in lockdown has been quieter. No motorway means no passive regen and more oil dilution. Going to be a cold one doing it outside this weekend.

Oil changed, ujs greased, air filter changed and a quick lick of acf 50 on all bolt heads and hinges, locks lubed and filled with fuel. Going to start using the motorway to get to work. From experience I get nearer to 10000 before the oil service indicator comes on. Will trip over 100000 in the next month so will be looking at diffs and gearboxes again at next oil change. These were last done at 60000. Looking to also replace a couple of idler pulleys and the tensioner too. I feel they are not as smooth as they could be. Do I go blue box or og?

Good that you were able to get your service done and a bit extra as well

Managed to get a look a pulleys today. Removed the belt after running for a couple of minutes to try and identify the source of the squeak. With all removable pulleys removed there didn’t seem to be any issues with any of them including the tensioner pulley. Alternator was free and quiet air con and power steering too. Reassembled it all and still squeaking. I had tried a little spray of water on the belt earlier to see if it was the belt with no change. So as a last resort I smeared a tiny amount of golden syrup, yes Tate and lyles best, on a smooth pulley and a ribbed one to get both side of the belt and it is now very quiet. Still going to look for a new tensioner in the next few months as 100000 is a good innings

Picked up some original side steps today for £70 Taken off a 2015 after 12 months and then stored so a little wear but 100x better than what is on even after they were prepped and painted last summer. I’ll save them until summer and dinitrol them and get them on.
