LOF clutches advice
Hi guys after some advice, looks like my clutch is on its way out 2003 TD5 110 which is remapped seeing slipping in 3rd and 4th under hard acceleration. I am going to go for a LOF power spec clutch and SMF any thoughts I do tow quite a bit with it. While I am at LOF I was thinking of the one piece half shafts they do to help get rid of clunking in the drive line are they good or should I get from somewhere else. Thanks in advance for advice or experience of the products Andy Thumbs Up Andy

I’ve got a few bits and bobs from LOF although not the clutch. What I can say is his customer service is second to none.

I've just finished running in the power spec single mass kit in 2003 TD5 its a very nice bit of kit its very smooth and revs well imo. Theres no extra vibrations or anything of note that I've noticed.

I also stuck a new output shaft in whilst the clutch was out.

Ha ha Simon I am also needing to do a lot of changes of bushes was about to order a super pro kit prior to the slipping clutch today. It’s all getting a bit of a big shopping list.

And yes I would love the LOF brake kit for 16” wheels at some point 😂😂I think they would look good on yours Simon Whistle Andy

I was looking at the lof one piece half shafts.

Are they made by / manufactured for lof? Wasn’t sure whether they’re the same as the Britpart ones. 2011 CSW XS 90

I'm not the best person to judge to be honest as (not bragging) have legs like tree trunks from years of rowing and skiing. My chum always said the clutch in my old Cooper S R53 was too heavy but I thought it was light. My wife's Octavia 4x4's clutch is non existent to me as its that light.

I bought the Brit Part one piece half shafts but I've not fitted them yet as I've been lazy. They look pretty nicely made and I would be surprised if they all don't come from the same place.

Do the Britpart and/or LOF shafts identify their country of origin?

I fitted genuine one-piece shafts some time ago and was rather surprised to see that they were made in South Korea. If the Britpart and LOF shafts also come from South Korea I think we can conclude that they come from the same factory, but if not then probably they are not of the same manufacturer.

On the LOF one piece half shafts, see my own view and experience related there https://www.defender2.net/forum/post856599.html#856599

Since then, I have done 3000km, and very happy with it. This is a no brainer when it comes to improving transmission backlash as it doesn’t cost a lot, and is quick and easy to fit,

/Mat

I got my arse and fitted mine this afternoon since theres not 2 feet of snow or a -8c wind blowing through. I checked the box for marks or CoO but there was nothing stamped or written on the shafts. They went on nicely and the clunk is gone. the old ones were a touch Censored . Diff end the splines were fine but the flange ends had a lot of play.
