Just picked up the caravan from having a new rear panel that included LED lights, according to the repairers they had to fit a seargent VLM4 converter to the caravan.
All the lights worked when coupled except the reverse, unplugged the caravan and the defenders reverse light was not working, I'm unsure if it was working before I connected the caravan so I have a bit of fault finding to do. especially as I have an MOT at the end of the week already booked in Couple of questions before I break out the multi-meter 1/ which fuse is it? 2/ is the fitting permanent live with ignition on 3/ is the negative switched to earth by the gearbox switch 3/ has anyone got a schematic for the reverse light circuit thanks in advance DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy Last edited by LR90XS2011 on 13th Feb 2021 4:14pm. Almost 100% guarantee it’ll be the switch on the top left of the gearbox. Short 22mm spanner required. Or remove the tunnel. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

I’m sure it never used to be part of the test.

Rule change end of May 2018 to include them and the stupid DLRs
Thought it must have been a fairly recent thing. |

Notwithstanding that rule change, hasn't it been the case for a long time that anything that's fitted needs to work properly, even if there's no legal requirement for it to be fitted in the first place? Darren
