If it’s diesel then that’s the AdBlue tank. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

This from LR hopefully tells you where the MHEV gubbins lives... seems to be over the back axle at the back end of the car

The the white cover is DEFinitely over the DEF (Adblue) tank.
I have not stumbled across the compressor yet (I also assumed it was underneath like the D3 as someone else just mentioned), but I'll research... Also DSL, on my vehicle (which is a fairly basic D200 spec) you would probably be correct - the liner from the commercial looks as though it would fit the space, except that there are no fixing points that match it in the car variant side panels, hence my comments about possibly involving a subframe - but in retrospect it may just be different side panels ? The Mild Hybrid obviously won't be able to benefit from this mod, judging by the amount of gubbins in that photo. I'd be fascinated to see the equivalent detail of the commercial variant, but none exist here in oz yet - are there any on the ground in UK or US yet ? Oldmowgli |

I think the rectangular thingie under the white Insulation is DEFinitely the air supply unit for the EAS. It's not under the car anymore like it was on my old RRS and Disco/LR4 (the air reservoir still is), which is probably why it's so whisper quiet, I can't hear it running anymore even with door and windows open.
Part #15 is the air compressor (110 version drawing, but the 90's is in the same place.) I hope I will be forgiven for pasting a link to another forum, but follow this to see what one guy in the US has done with the rear storage, which looks pretty good:

Just giving this thread a bump…
Has anyone either: 1) attempted to put the commercial storage system in a standard defender? 2) got a commercial defender and poked around to see how it is installed? Or even just got any good pictures! Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |
