Sorry for the delay in responding. The garage has been closed for sales since I took the car out because of the new Swiss Lockdown rules. Added to this we've had lots of snow so they put all the cars on the forecourt inside so they could run their snowplough around. Hence I haven't seen it out again. I've just spoken to the dealer about ordering the car and the tyres Land-Rover Switzerland are selling are Continentals with a snowflake / mountain / M+S rating. We had a long conversation about these as here we really need tyres that handle snow and ice really well. I don't know for certain but I think they're probably Continental WinterContacts. EDIT: Confirmed, they were Continental WinterContacts[/quote] My wife had Conti WinterContacts on her TT and has done for a couple of seasons. Brilliant tyre. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

After 1h driving on the motorway on a snowy day, driver assist systems went down. Reason was snow collected by bumper. Same behaviour as compared to my previous car. Nothing to make me worry.

Sepp, the other place where there are sensors likely to get blocked by snow is the Land Rover Green Oval badge on the front grille - the sensor for the adaptive cruise control is behind it if you have ACC Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

The LR Badge was covered in snow, too, but didn‘t take a picture. However, no ACC on my car.

That’s why I won’t spec it - if you drive in snow it disengages because of “blocked sensor” warnings then you have no cruise at all, not even the basic one. There’s no way to over-ride it and have old style non-assisted cruise either. To be fair, using cruise is not a great idea in snow/ice anyway Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

True but on a ploughed and gritted motorway in snow driving from London to Scotland it was a pain not to have it because the sensor gets blocked. Car (RRS TDv8) was capable of handling the road on winter tyres and using the GGS setting in slushy motorway lanes Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

On the disco, if you turn off the feature you then can run basic cruise... I had a temporary fault on a d5 one morning that I did that to get cruise back for the 100mile drive at restart fault cleared never came back.
Did you try that on defender? Mike |

I don’t have Adaptive Cruise on mine - wasn’t an option on D240 First Editions.
