Vent behind central dash panel

Hi All,

Was doing some work on my Puma Defender and had to remove the central dash panel and noticed the air vent duct on the left had been cut/hacked about? Assuming this isnt factory, anybody come across this before or know why someone might have done this?!

I believe some double DIN fascia installs require cutting the vents. Can't think of any other reason.

Definitely not factory, and it is hard to understand why that would be necessary. It is not in the position where a double-din fascia would need a cut, and I am struggling to think of any reason for doing that. Very strange.

That duct is a tricky one to replace, too, since it is so embedded in the dash.

Either that or somebody has done the wiper wheel boxes and Tori to put a piece back. They just slot into each other and all start from a centre manifold type affair.
