I believe it was quite rare, but some Range Rover classics had a wooden insert in the gear selector.

The inserts come up for sale from time to time, usually around the £150 mark.

I decided to have a go at making my own. Unfortunately the colour match isn't that close so I might need to re do it/ditch the idea.

I want to get the window switch surround re veneered at some point so will probably get the selector done properly at the same time

No real updates but went out to buy some milk today and decided to take the long route home. The sea was rather choppy

Finally - an update for project Range Rover!

It's due new tyres as the ones on it are starting to crack. I've got 5 new Hankook Dynapro RA33s coming so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do the final bit of the puzzle - refurbish the wheels.

I found a guy locally who does chemical stripping. He sent me a picture today of one of the finished wheels, they've come up amazingly

So I've had the wheels powdercoated silver and painted the centres green. New tyres tomorrow - I'm really looking forward to getting it back on its wheels
